UBUNTU Towers is now TowerCo of Africa Uganda
TOA Uganda CEO, Geoffrey Donnels Oketayot and CEO of TOA - Stephane Beuvelet Unveiling the new identity of Ubuntu Towers
TowerCo of Africa Uganda, formerly known as Ubuntu Towers Uganda, has successfully completed its rebranding process. TowerCo of Africa Uganda is now 90% owned by TowerCo of Africa (TOA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of AXIAN Telecom. The company’s rebranding aims to redefine connectivity in Uganda and marks a significant milestone in its evolution.
In a colourful event that happened at Serena Hotel, Geoffrey Donnels Oketayot, the CEO of TowerCo of Africa Uganda, expressed excitement about the new identity, stating that it represents a transfer of the positive legacy from Ubuntu Towers to the TowerCo of Africa brand. He emphasized the company’s ambition to be a leading green passive infrastructure solutions provider in Uganda.
The TowerCo of Africa Uganda team reflected on the positive impact they have had on the market since their establishment in 2020. They expressed gratitude to their employees, customers, business partners, industry bodies, and the government for their support in shaping the socio-economic impact of the company.
A number of dignitaries, business leaders, and stakeholders graced the event with the guest of honour being Uganda’s State Minister of ICT, Honourable Joyce Juliet Nabbosa Ssebugwawo. Speaking at the event, the minister expressed her joy at the development adding that it means more growth will be coming to the industry.
It was revealed during the event, that TowerCo of Africa Uganda is committed to sustainable and responsible development and has already rolled out towers across approximately 360 sites, most of which are equipped with hybrid energy solutions. The company plans to significantly increase this number in the coming years.
Stephane Beuvelet, CEO of TowerCo of Africa, highlighted that their infrastructure investments are contributing to various sectors in Uganda, such as education, e-health, e-farming, logistics, and transport. The company aims to collaborate with partners to deliver enhanced services and promote a better-connected, sustainable Uganda.
